Memorial Sunday, 5/3/2026

What a wonderful day in Worship.

Our Sunday started with a report from the Memorial Association. Their ministry is to make sure our cemetery is well taken care of. They shared beautiful flowers for the church today.

We remembered Donald Ray Teague, born 1/7/1951 and died 3/24/2025. We also remembered Ruby Tyndall Mote, born 5/23/1941 and died 9/15/2025.

We had an attendance of 83 today. And the time of sharing, praying and singing gave us a glimpse of what Heaven is going to be like..only better.

Our Opening Hymn was Victory in Jesus.
The Choir sang Living by Faith.

Cade Fields was our speaker today. He shared a powerful sermon from Luke, entitled, When We Need a Miracle. He talked about Jesus’ healing miracles for the centurion’s dying servant and the widow who just lost her son. What do we do when we need a miracle?

We did have an interesting event during the sermon. We had left the back doors open to let the sunshine in and a cardinal flew in during the sermon. Cade was great to acknowledge the bird and keeping us on track. After turning off all the sanctuary lights, the bird found its way out the back doors.

We ended the service singing Abide with Me. A song that reminds us that we can go through anything if we simply abide in Jesus’ power.

And Homecoming wouldn’t be complete without the Methodist way of sharing a meal. And, oh what a meal it was. We had a variety of meat dishes, sides and desserts. No one should have left hungry. But we probably all ought to ask for forgiveness for overindulgance.

Thank you to all who worshipped with us today, for those that provided parts of worship, for those who provided food and for those who enjoyed the fellowship. God is Good…All the Time!
